Impact of Technology to the access to Training Techniques, Equipment and Clothing
Because of the drastic increase in technology around training and technique efficiency the use devices and tools have greatly been increased. Every country wants to be known as the best, every athlete wants to be known as the best thats why athletes turn to technology to get the performing edge on the other competitors. To have the edge on the other competitors require the best coaches, training facilities, clothing and equipment. These necessities to having a superior track and field country don't come cheap, with even the basic of athletics tracks costing upwards of over $1,000,000 and the elite tracks which can cost over $5,000,000. Even sprinting spikes can cost over $300 a pair, which won't last very long knowing that profession sprinters can apply over 400kg of force through their feet, the clothing can also range over $2000 when talking about national uniforms. Most likely in these situations sponsors would step in and cover the cost of these small but pricy necessities but when we are talking about athletes from 3rd world countries who don't have sponsorships, is it really fair to be competing against athletes that train in the newest high tech facilities compared to the athletes in Kenya that train on a dirt track which isn't even measured properly. The Rift Valley is known as the capital of athletics in Kenya, most of the economic value that come from the Valley if funded by the money earned by athletes from sponsorship deals, it is not fair that these athletes income is threaten by the use of technology in other parts of the world which is making it hard for some of these athletes to compete to the same standard.
